FREDERICK, Md. (ABC7) — A judge has ruled that one of the two teens charged in the murder of a man at the Great Frederick Fair last year will be tried as a juvenile, according to the State’s Attorney for Frederick County.

Frederick County Judge Julie Stevenson Solt issued a written opinion on the case Tuesday afternoon denying the state’s waiver motion concluding that the 16-year-old suspect’s case remains in the juvenile court system.

The 16-year-old is accused of being one of the attackers who killed 59-year-old John Marvin Weed at the Great Frederick Fair on Sept. 20, 2019. Another teen, a 15-year-old, is also being charged in the case.
